Gerne würde ich hier Hersteller und Lieferanten von geeigneten Fädelketten empfehlen, jedoch ist die Sachlage ein wenig diffiziler und sichere Nennungen nicht möglich.
Certainly I would love to recommend producers and suppliers of running chains proper, but the situation is a little bit more complicated and such recommendations would not be safe.
Als Beispiel betrachten wir einmal, was die DIN-Normen zu Ketten mit einer Drahtstärke von d=4 Millimetern sagen, genannt Nenndicke d. Kurzgliedrige Ketten sind ohnehin nicht fädelgeeignet, und für langgliedrige Ketten gibt es Normen DIN 763 und DIN 5685 (hier der früher C-Kette genannte Typ), welche sich darin unterscheiden, ob die Ketten lastgeprüft sind oder nicht. Im Gegensatz zur DIN 766 für kurzgliedrige Ketten sind die langgliedrigen Ketten nicht lehrhaltig, und damit ist schonmal mit Toleranzen zu rechnen, auch wenn z.B. für die Teilung kein Fehlerbalken angegeben wird.
Für das Fädeln ist die Breite der Innenöffnung maßgeblich, bei 4mm Kettenstärke muß diese mindestens 8mm sein, sollte aber nicht viel darüber liegen. In den Normen wird für die Breite der Ketten ein inneres Minimalmaß von b1=7.2mm und ein äußeres Maximalmaß von b2=16.8mm angegeben, was einer Innenöffnung von 8.8mm entspricht.
Somit ist zu erkennen, daß die erlaubten Toleranzen laut Norm sowohl fädelbare als auch nicht fädelbare Ketten erlauben. Auch die Praxis bestätigt dies, nur ein Teil der auf dem Markt angebotenen Ketten ist fädelbar, und die Fädeleignung kann zudem selbst bei gleichem Hersteller von Charge zu Charge schwanken, und bei Vertriebsfirmen sind noch wechselnde Zulieferer eine weitere Unsicherheit.
Let's look i.e. at the German DIN standards and what they say for the example of a 4 millimetres thick chain. Short link chains cannot be woven, they are not running chains anyway. DIN 763 and DIN 5685 (here the type previously called "C") talk about long link chains and differ whether the chains have been load-tested or not. Contrasting to DIN 766 for short link chains the long link standards do not require gauge compliance, so one ought to expect tolerances for a start even in the case of the link length where no tolerance is given.
For the weaving it is the inner diameter which counts, for a 4mm chain this requires at least 8mm but should not be much in excess of that value. The DIN standards give an inner minimum width of 7.2mm, and an overall maximum width of 16.8mm which does correspond to an inner width of 8.8mm.
Hence one can see that the tolerances allowed by the norm allow for non- running as well as running chains, they may or may not be usable for chain weaving. Practical experience does confirm this, only some of the chains on the market can be woven. Even for the same manufacturer this may change from batch to batch, and suppliers may change sources adding another incertainty.
Und damit ist noch gar nichts über die Verarbeitungsqualität ausgesagt.
And after all this there is nothing said about the workmanship.
